SIA group reports 2.4 million passengers for November

Singapore Airlines (SIA) said passenger numbers flown by the group’s two carriers rose 6.1%, to 2.4 million in November, from the 2.3 million air travellers they transported in October. Read More » The latest results were a significant improvement over the 302,300 passengers carried by Singapore Airlines and LCC Scoot in the same month in 2021. “Strong passenger demand heading into the year-end peak travel season continued to drive a strong operating performance for the Singapore Airlines group,” SIA said in its monthly traffic report. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the November passenger total was 73.6% of the 3.3 million passengers the airline group carried in the same month in 2019. Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), climbed to 75% of pre-pandemic levels in the 30 days. SIA executive vice president commercial, Lee Lik Hsin, forecast SIA passenger capacity will hit 80% this month and stabilise at that level until March 2023.
