China reports 80% increase in Lunar New Year air travellers

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said the country's airlines flew 9 million passengers in the Spring Festival holiday that runs annually from Lunar New Year Eve until the sixth day of the New Year. Read More » The figures, recorded from January 21 to January 27, were an increase of 79.8% over the same holiday week in 2022. Averaged passenger load factor rose 20 percentage points to 76%, the CAAC said, and averaged daily commercial airline flights increased 33.6% to 11,977.
