Hong Kong government pledges more support for aviation including aircraft leasing

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said in this week’s 2023-2024 budget the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) will reduce or waive airport charges, provide incentives to resume suspended services and to launch routes and organise large-scale promotions to support the recovery of air traffic from COVID. Read More » Additionally, HKSAR financial secretary, Paul Chan, announced the government is working to enhance the aircraft leasing preferential tax regime to potentially “allow tax deductions for the acquisition cost of aircraft and to expand the scope of leases and aircraft leasing activities”. The HKSAR also is pressing ahead with its Airport City strategy, which includes a business aviation park and integrated commercial development.
