Read More » “The two peaks in inbound air travel after China’s reopening were before (January 19) and after (January 27) Lunar New Year’s Day (January 23) when ticket sales increased by 292% and 469%, respectively, compared with demand before the border reopening was announced,” IATA said. Although travel picked up in January, IATA said the full recovery timeline for China’s international air passengers will remain uncertain because flight restrictions in many countries have impeded airlines from fully serving pent-up demand for travel to the Mainland. Additionally, travel document backlogs and entry requirements for Chinese travellers had constrained the pace of recovery, IATA said.
