Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has lifted profit guidance for its 2022/23 financial year as strong passenger demand and favourable currency movements outweigh softer cargo revenues. Read More » The Star Alliance member said earnings before taxation and other significant items for the 12 months to June 30 2023 was expected to be between NZ$510 million and NZ$560 million (US$313 million and US$343 million), up from its previous estimate of NZ$450 million-NZ$530 million issued in February. The company reported a loss before taxation and significant items of NZ$725 million in 2021/22. Air NZ said its network capacity expectations for the second half of 2022/23 were “largely unchanged” from February, with domestic and international flying expected to be at 95% and 80%, respectively, of pre-COVID-19 levels.
