Three creditors ask India tribunal to declare SpiceJet insolvent

India-headquartered SpiceJet is the subject of three filings with the country's National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) by parties seeking insolvency proceedings against the LCC. Read More » Aircastle (Ireland) Limited filed with the tribunal on April 28, WLFC (previously branded as Willis Lease Finance Corporation) on April 12 and Acres Buildwell Private Limited on February 4, the NCLT website shows. Local media has reported the NCLT issued a notice to SpiceJet on Aircastle's petition on May 8 and listed the matter for hearing on May 17. In response, SpiceJet said there had been no adverse NCLT ruling against the company. The tribunal’s website states the WFLC and Acres matters also are due for hearing, on May 29 and May 26, respectively. India's BSE Ltd stock exchange has sought clarification from the Mumbai LCC about the matters.
