AirAsia Indonesia books US$1.4 million first quarter profit

AirAsia Indonesia (AAI) has reported a net profit of 20.6 billion rupiah (US$1.4 million) for the three months to March 31 against a net loss of 503.6 billion rupiah in the year ago period. Operating costs rose 76.6%, to 1.3 trillion rupiah. “Strong pent-up demand is evident in flight booking activities [to destinations] where travel restrictions have been lifted and additional routes have re-opened.
