SpiceJet to return four aircraft to passenger service in June

Read More » The India-based LCC, which celebrated its 18th anniversary this week, is targeting the return of two 737s and two Q400s to its operational network by June 15. “More planes will be back in operation in the following weeks,” SpiceJet said in a regulatory filing. On May 3, the airline said it will use the government's Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) and better cash accruals for funds to bring back the 25 aircraft to passenger service. “SpiceJet has become a truly inseparable part of people’s lives and has created an unbreakable bond with our passengers. We are immensely proud of this achievement,” SpiceJet chair and managing director, Ajay Singh, said. “Our 18th anniversary marks the beginning of a new era for us with renewed hope and opportunities.”
