The oneworld airline marketing alliance said the initial results of a trial conducted with artificial intelligence company, Elemental Cognition, of a digital booking tool for around-the-world tickets were “very promising”. Customers are four times more likely to create bookable itineraries that met their requirements compared with standard interfaces, the alliance reports.
Satellite company, Inmarsat, is adding service plans to its Jet ConneX inflight broadband product supported by Satcom Direct’s Plane Simple Ka-band terminal.
China Airlines conducted sustainability demonstration flights on May 21 when anA350-900, registration B-18917, operated the CI753 and CI754 between Taipei Taoyuan and Singapore powered by sustainable aviation fuel and with its emissions offset by carbon credits. It also served plant-based meals in all cabin classes and had on board items such as blankets, pillow slips and was fitted with headrest covers made from recycled plastic.
