Australia’s airlines flew 4.8 million passengers on their domestic networks

Airlines operating in Australia transported 4.8 million passengers on their domestic networks in March, up 33.5% from 3.6 million in-country passengers carried in the same month in 2022. Read More » The March figure was also 20.3% above the 4 million domestic passengers in February, according to figures from Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE). When compared with pre-COVID-19 levels of activity, domestic passenger numbers were at 95.1% of the 5.1 million domestic customers Australian carriersw in the same month in 2019. Capacity, or available seat kilometres, was at 94.2%.
