Japan Airlines announces first direct Tokyo-Doha route

Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch nonstop daily Tokyo Haneda-Doha in the northern hemisphere 2024 summer season to be flown by 787-9s. JAL said fellow oneworld alliance member, Qatar Airways, will add its QR airline code on its Haneda-Doha service and keep its JL airline code on Qatar Airways flights between Tokyo and Doha. “This route will be the first direct flight to the Middle East operated by a Japanese airline,” JAL said. “By launching this route, JAL will seamlessly connect customers to Africa and South America through its partnership with Qatar Airways.”
