Cathay Pacific confirms forecast of 100% passenger capacity by December 2024

Cathay Pacific chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said the airline group, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, was close to 60% of pre-COVID-19 passenger capacity in July, on track to be at 70% by year-end and is “confident” of reaching 100% by the close of 2024. Read More » “July marks the beginning of the traditional summer peak for passenger travel and we are very pleased to see demand has been strong,” Lau said. “We expect the strong travel demand experienced in July will continue through the August summer peak.” Cathay Pacific flew 1.7 million passengers in the reported month, up 12.6%, or 1.5 million passengers, in June and 693.8% more than the 219,746 customers it transported in July 2022. The July numbers were 53.2% of the 3.3 million passengers the group carried in pre-COVID July 2019.
