Rex grows 737 fleet to nine aircraft

Australia's Rex Airlines has added a ninth 737-800 aircraft to its fleet. Read More » The narrowbody, registration VH-8JS, landed in Brisbane late last week and was expected to enter commercial service in October. The airline group said it was taking delivery of two more 737-800s by June 30 2024. While the 737-800 allowed Rex to boost is jet network linking capital cities and major centres, the airline has reduced frequencies on eight regional routes from Sydney from October, as well as suspended one regional route until March 2024 and withdrawn one intrastate service in Queensland, due to what it said was the loss of pilots to other carriers.
