Cebu Pacific CEO confident of bright future for Philippines aviation
October 4th 2023
Cebu Pacific CEO, Michael Szucs, is confident Philippines aviation is well placed for growth in the post-pandemic world. Read More » “The Philippines has a moment now with this young middle class. They are increasing the wealth of the nation but they also are wanting to travel,” Szucs said at the recent Philippine Aviation Summit. “We are strategically placed in ASEAN to be a hub, allowing more connectivity between all people in this region. The growth story is impressive and consistent and the tourism potential here is massive.” In the meantime, the LCC faces a setback to its growth goals after Pratt & Whitney announced extra maintenance requirements for the OEM’s geared turbofan engines. The engine powers Cebu Pacific’s A320 family fleet. The new maintenance processes will delay deliveries of ordered aircraft to the carrier in 2024.
