India's airlines record 10.8% year-on-year increase in domestic passengers

Airlines across India carried 12.6 million in-country passengers in October from the 11.4 million domestic passengers they transported a year ago, India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, (DGCA) has reported. LCC IndiGo maintained its position as India’s largest domestic airline by passengers with 7.9 million customers flown, or 62.6% of the domestic market, for the 31 days. Air India was runner up at 1.3 million passengers (10.5% market share) followed by Vistara at 1.2 million customers (9.7% market share) and AirAsia India with 832,000 passengers (6.6% market share).
