AirAsia Group airlines report 15.4 million passengers for first quarter 2024

AirAsia’s operating airlines in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand carried a combined 15.4 million passengers in the three months to March 31 up 17% from the 13.2 million air travellers they transported in the first quarter of 2023. Read More » The four LCCs lifted capacity by 26% for the quarter and passenger load factor increased one percentage point to 90%. “This robust performance aligns with AirAsia's strategic focus on expanding capacity and rebuilding its network,” parent company, Capital A, said. “Notably, passenger recovery reached 84% of pre-COVID levels with domestic and international segments experiencing growth at a similar rate and achieved capacity recovery was 82%. To capitalise on this robust demand, the airline group is prioritising active expansion of its capacity and network to meet strong growing demand.”
