Akasa Air to fly nonstop India to Jeddah from mid-year

Akasa Air is adding Saudi Arabia to its international network with Jeddah flights to take off in July. Read More » The India-headquartered carrier will operate two nonstop routes to Jeddah: daily ex-Mumbai from July 15 increasing to 12 a week on July 21 and twice a week and then daily from Ahmedabad by July 20. Saudi Arabia is Akasa Air's second international destination, following the introduction of nonstop flights to Doha in March. “We are thrilled to expand our presence in the Middle East with the addition of Jeddah to our growing network,” Akasa Air co-founder and senior vice president of international, Neelu Khatri, said. “We are extremely proud to witness our global footprint grow alongside our domestic services, with the addition of our second global destination within a short time.” At present, Mumbai-Jeddah is served nonstop by Air India, IndiGo, Saudia and Vistara. IndiGo also flies nonstop Ahmedabad-Jeddah.
