IndiGo’s 2024 profits depressed by foreign exchange fluctuations

InterGlobe Aviation, parent of LCC IndiGo, has reported a net profit of 24.5 billion rupee (US$284 million) for the three months to December 31, down 30 billion rupee compared with the same months in 2023. Read More » Its bottom line was impacted by currency movements, the company said, but emphasized profits excluding the foreign exchange impact increased 26.1%. Operating revenue was higher by 13.7%, at 221.1 billion rupee, an IndiGo regulatory filing said. Capacity is forecast to expand 20% in the three months to this March 31 compared with a year ago. "We delivered a strong third quarter in fiscal year 2025, both operationally and financially," IndiGo CEO, Pieter Elbers, said. "These results were driven by robust demand and our ability to cater for that demand supported by lower fuel prices.”
