Air Lease Corporation has reported net profit declined 35% to US$372.1 million in 2024, from US$572.9 million in 2023. Revenue rose 1.8% to US$2.7 billion, Air Lease Corporation said in a regulatory filing. "Looking forward, we expect lease rates and aircraft valuations to rise, supporting the value of our business," Air Lease Corporation CEO, John Plueger, and chair Steven Udvar-Hazy, said. "We remain optimistic about the ongoing benefits of these trends, given aircraft shortages are anticipated to persist for several years to come."
Airbus, Boeing, GenZero, the International Civil Aviation Organisation and the International Power-to-X Hub have signed a Letter of Intent to jointly set up a global platform to connect investors with aviation sustainability projects.
Safran Group has reported a net profit of 3.1 billion euro (US$3.2 billion) for calendar 2024, up 51% from a net profit of 2 billion euro the previous year. Revenue rose 18% to 27.3 billion euro, Safran said in a regulatory filing. "In 2025, meeting our air framer and airline customers’ requirements and improving industrial performance in both original equipment and MRO remain priorities to continue our profitable growth," Safran CEO, Olivier Andriès, said. The company has forecast revenue growth of about 10% for calendar 2025.
Air travel technology company, SITA, has launched ATC Connect, a new messaging platform for air navigation service providers.
Airports of Thailand Public Company (AOT) has reported a net profit of 5.4 billion baht (US$159 million) for the three months to December 31, up 17.1% from a net profit of 4.6 billion baht in 2023. Revenue rose 13.4% to 17.9 billion baht in line with the growth in flights and passengers across its network of airports in Thailand, AOT said in a regulatory filing.
A consortium led by AmInvestment Bank will compulsorily acquire all remaining shares in Malaysia Airports Holdings held by shareholders who have not accepted the takeover offer. A regulatory filing last week said the consortium had received acceptances for its offer from shareholders representing 98.68% of all issued shares in the airports company. Malaysia Airports is expected to be delisted from the local stock exchange as part of the transaction.
Japan Airlines (JAL) has received the International Air Transport Association Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Lithium Batteries (CEIV Lit-batt) certification.
