Japan Airlines domestic passengers carried increase 15%; international traffic up 30.3%

Japan Airlines (JAL) started the New Year strongly with domestic passenger numbers rising 15% to 2.95 million in January compared with the 2.57 million domestic customers it carried a year ago. Read More » The oneworld alliance member expanded domestic capacity by 2.3% in the 31 days and reported domestic passenger load factor was 7.8 percentage points higher, at 76.7%, in the reported period. JAL also booked robust international growth in January with passengers flown up 30.3% year-on-year to 689,572 in the 31 days. International capacity expanded by 8.9% and passenger load factor climbed 12.6 percentage points to 85.1% in the month, the airline said.
