Australia recorded a 17% increase in international passengers in December

More than 4.1 million air travellers flew into and out of Australia in the final month of 2024, up 11.7% from the 3.7 million air passengers flown in the same month in 2023. Read More » The Australian Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics reports Qantas Airways was Australia’s largest international airline by customers in the 31 days, transporting 16.2% of all non-domestic passengers, followed by Qantas Group LCC Jetstar at 11.8%. Singapore Airlines was Australia’s largest foreign carrier and the third largest airline overall with an 8.4% market share, ahead of Air New Zealand (6.8%) and Emirates Airline (6%). The Singapore flag carrier topped the table for international freight for the month with 13.7% of the market followed by Qantas (9.8%) and Cathay Pacific (8%).
