Hong Kong Airlines wants “as many jets as possible” to revive network

We will introduce as many as possible,” Zhan said, and added the carrier is considering opening Hong Kong-Melbourne and also key destinations in the U.S. and Europe. At press time, the airline is looking to lease five to 10 aircraft. It is eyeing A330s, A320 family single-aisle jets and 787 Dreamliners, but not the 787-8 variant. It is considered too small for long-haul ambitions, the exclusive Bloomberg report said. COMAC’s C919 could have a place in the airline’s fleet for future short-haul flights, the airline said. Zhan told Bloomberg Hong Kong-Vancouver, which started in January, is running 90% full and confirmed direct flights to Sydney will commence in June.
