Vietjet commits 50 737s to Thailand affiliate

Vietjet has transferred 50 737 MAXs from its 200 aircraft order with Boeing to Vietjet Thailand. Read More » Deliveries of the single aisles are earmarked for VietJet Thailand’s domestic and international networks. “The transfer of 50 737-8s to Vietjet Thailand demonstrates our long-term commitment to sustainable aviation development in the region,” Vietjet chair, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, said. “We are determined to implement the ‘Three Connects Strategy’ between the two countries encompassing supply chains, businesses and localities.” At present, Vietjet Thailand flies A320s and A321s. As part of the deal, Boeing is providing Vietjet Thailand with pilot, MRO and engineering training support. “We are pleased to partner with Vietjet and Vietjet Thailand to expand Boeing 737 operations in Vietnam and Thailand,” Boeing president for Southeast Asia, Penny Burtt, said.
