Boeing CEO warns new 777-9X is falling behind certification deadlines

Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg, has told an investment conference a mountain of work remains to be done to certify the 777-9X. Read More » Announced in 2013, the 777-9X program has encountered repeated delays during development and certification phases. The company's latest forecast is first delivery of the 777-9X will be next year. Ortberg told the Morgan Stanley Laguna Conference Boeing was "clearly behind" in certifying the 777-9X. Despite the delays Ortberg said demand for the aircraft was fantastic. All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines have ordered the type.
