Malaysia Airlines welcomes 8th A330-900

Malaysia Airlines added a new A330-900 to its fleet this past weekend, when the new widebody, registration 9M-MNN, touched down at Kuala Lumpur after its 12-and-a-half-hour delivery flight from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France. Read More » The A330-900 fleet, which is configured to carry 297 passengers in a two-class layout comprising 28 business and 269 economy seats, serves Auckland, Bali, Melbourne, Sydney and Tokyo Narita from the oneworld alliance member’s Kuala Lumpur hub. Malaysia Airlines said in a post on LinkedIn the addition of an eighth A330-900 paved the way for the airline to operate the youngest widebody fleet into Australasia by the first quarter of next year, which reflected its "commitment to sustainability and service excellence". Malaysia Airlines has ordered 40 A330-900s - 10 via lessor Avolon and 30 directly from Airbus.
