AirBorneo granted Thailand slots for international expansion

Malaysia-based AirBorneo is one of four new airlines allocated takeoff and landing slots by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) during the upcoming northern hemisphere winter scheduling season. Read More » The airline, previously known as MASWings when it was owned by Malaysia Aviation Group, is expected to use the slot allocation to operate return flights between Kuching and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. The other three new airlines grated operating slots to fly into and out of Thailand’s major airports, such as Chiang Mai, Phuket and Suvarnabhumi, during the winter scheduling season were Riyadh Air from Saudi Arabia, SkyUp Nistru from Moldova and U.K.-based Virgin Atlantic. The CAAT said the new airlines increased travel options and promoted flight connections between Thailand and the rest of the world. The northern hemisphere winter scheduling season runs from the end of October this year to end of March 2027.
