SIA Group releases A380 from storage to install updated cabin retrofit

Singapore Airlines flew one of its A380s from storage in Alice Springs to Sydney yesterday to prepare the aircraft for a cabin retrofit program, local media reported. Read More » The airline group said the A380, 9V-SKQ, was in Sydney for routine checks ahead of its return to Singapore where it will be fitted with upgraded cabin products, including SIA's new suites cabin and business class seats on the upper deck. SIA has said it plans to reduce its A380 fleet from 19 to 12. All its A380s are grounded in response to depressed demand from the coronavirus pandemic.
