China’s flag carrier signs for 18 A320 family aircraft

Air China informed the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong yesterday it had signed a purchase agreement with AFS Investments, a wholly-owned subsidiary of General Electric's GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), for 18 A320 family aircraft. Read More » The Beijing-headquartered carrier said the order for five A320s and 13 A321s, with all aircraft to be delivered "before 2022", would be funded with cash, commercial bank loans and other financing instruments. "The aircraft purchase will supplement the long-term fleet capacity of the company in Beijing and Chengdu under the pattern of 'one city two airports'," Air China said.
