Australia and New Zealand working towards two-way air travel bubble

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) CEO, Greg Foran, said today the airline planned to start twice weekly nonstop flights between Auckland and Hobart with A320s once a two-way air travel bubble was established with Australia. Read More » "We'll be providing flights on Thursdays and Sundays to make the most of domestic connectivity and provide the best long weekend options for travellers," Foran said. Australian trade and tourism minister, Dan Tehan, said: “Our hope is we will have a New Zealand bubble open and running properly, a two-way bubble, in coming weeks, which would be fantastic," Tehan told media. New Zealand deputy prime minister, Grant Robertson, said: "I don’t think we’re too far off being able to create the New Zealand version to match up with the Australian version. There are still a few issues to be ironed out, such as how the countries would handle fresh outbreaks.”
