Cathay Pacific said today it had completed a third pilot of the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) ONE Record cargo initiative that aimed to create a single record view of a shipment that could be shared by all stakeholders. Read More » The third pilot was conducted over two days in Hong Kong in March in partnership with Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and freight forwarders Sinotrans (HK) Air Transportation Development Co Ltd, Soonest Express (HK) Co Ltd and DHL. GLS (HK) developed the platform for Cathay Pacific Cargo. The Hong Kong pilot followed trials on flights from Amsterdam and London Heathrow. The airline group’s next objective would be the introduction of ONE Record across its global operations, the airline group said. “ONE Record is a very important programme, which is going to set the future standard for air cargo," Cathay Pacific Director Cargo, Tom Owen, said. IATA head of digital cargo, Henk Mulder, said the ultimate aim of the ONE Record programme was to improve service, speed and reliability by standardising competing or overlapping systems used by shippers, agents, warehouses and customs in the air cargo supply chain.
