Embraer E190-E2 receives steep approach certification from European regulator

Embraer said the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has awarded its E190-E2 regional jet certification for steep approaches. Read More » The decision will allow the Embraer aircraft to have an increased descent angle of up to 5.5 degrees, which reduces noise pollution for those living close to airports and surrounding communities. The system was enabled with a special software upgrade and the installation of a corresponding steep approach switch on the cockpit control, Embraer said. The certification permits E190-E2 operations at the close-in London City Airport.
