Virgin Australia launches “VA-X & Win” giveaway campaign to encourage Australians to take the COVID-19 jab

Virgin Australia (VA) plans a national campaign that will give away millions of frequent flyer points and also free business class flights to encourage Australians to vaccinate against COVID-19. Read More » The competition will be conducted once all Australians of adult age become eligible for vaccination. The Australian carrier is offering flexible working hours to staff to allow them time to receive the vaccine. VA’s employees will eligible for prizes such as additional annual leave, lounge memberships and business class flights if they are vaccinated. VA said a recent staff survey it conducted showed 65% of cabin crew, pilots and airport workers either had been vaccinated or had registered to be vaccinated. "As an industry that has been severely affected by COVID-19, we want to do all we can to help vaccinate the population. It makes sense to reward and encourage our colleagues who have been on the frontline of this pandemic in this journey,” a VA spokesperson said.
