Quarantine free travel between Australia and New Zealand resumes

Read More » New Zealand COVID-19 response minister, Chris Hipkins, said quarantine-free travel between New Zealand and the Northern Territory and Western Australia would resume from 2359 on Friday, July 9. “Officials have assessed the spread of COVID-19 cases appears to be contained in Western Australia and Northern Territory. There is robust surveillance, testing and contact tracing to detect and manage cases and adequate border controls in place to prevent the spread of new cases,” Hipkins said. He added the pause with Queensland would be reviewed on Wednesday. New Zealand suspended quarantine free travel with Australia in late June following COVID-19 outbreaks in several Australian states and territories.
