AirAsia Philippines extends essential worker restrictions for flights

AirAsia Philippines' domestic flights will continue to be restricted to frontline health workers, government officials, those travelling for medical reasons and individuals bound for overseas until August 31. Read More » The restriction was introduced on August 6 after the Philippines put in place enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in response to the COVID-19 situation. The rule was due to expire last Friday. The LCC said it extended restricted passenger access to flights in light of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) rules put in place alongside strict lockdowns in across metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal. "Guests coming from and going to Manila with existing flight bookings with a departure date from 21 to 31 August can move their flights from September 1 to 30 September and be able to select from a range of extended flexibility options for future travel," AirAsia Philippines said.
