Thai Airways International updates progress of business rehabilitation plan

Thai Airways International (THAI) has informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand it has sold two CFM56-3C1 engines for 737-400 aircraft no longer in use for US$265,000. Read More » Five unspecified spare engines also were sold between December 15, 2021 and March 14 [2022] for US$16.4 million. The sales disclosures were part of THAI's latest update of its business rehabilitation plan, a reporting process the airline is required to do each quarter. The filing said THAI had reached agreement with creditors on new operating lease or finance lease conditions for 34 aircraft in the three months, bringing to 46 aircraft with renegotiated terms. Administrators of THAI's business rehabilitation plan are continuing to negotiate payment terms for another 11 aircraft. In the reported three months, THAI also completed the sale of land and buildings at four sites and sold more of its equity in Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Company.
