Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, is confident the company will return to profitability in 2023, local media reports, citing comments to reporters at a media event. Fernandes said the company could have up to 200 aircraft back flying by the end of 2022. The Malaysia-listed Capital A, formerly known as AirAsia Group, reported a net loss of 3.1 billion ringgit (US$739 million) for calendar 2021 and a net loss of 5.1 billion ringgit for calendar 2020. The company's LCC businesses in Indonesia and the Philippines were doing well, Fernandes added.
