Hong Kong reopening to non-residents from May 1

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government will allow non-residents to enter the HKSAR from May 1, subject to the same boarding, quarantine and testing arrangements as residents. Read More » Non-residents have been banned from Hong Kong since the start of the pandemic. In other changes, the HKSAR said airlines with five or more passengers testing COVID-19 positive upon arrival of their flights in Hong Kong will be suspended from the route for five days, down from the present seven days. "The government has noted the views of various sectors of the community on the route-specific flight suspension mechanism, including that the relevant triggering thresholds are too harsh," the HKSAR government said. It also has introduced rapid antigen tests for arriving passengers.
