China Eastern Airlines reports US$1.2 billion net loss for Q1 2022

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) recorded a net loss of 7.8 billion yuan (US$1.2 billion) for the three months to March 31, more than double the 3.8 billion yuan net loss it incurred in the matching quarter in 2021. Read More » Revenue declined 5.5%, to 12.7 billion yuan, CEA has informed the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Operating costs rose 6.9%, to 21.8 billion yuan, for the quarter, the Shanghai-headquartered carrier’s unaudited financial accounts show.
