IATA director general urges Asia-Pacific governments to support global aviation recovery

International Air Transport Association (IATA) director general, Willie Walsh, has called on governments in the Asia-Pacific to lift restrictions for vaccinated travellers, remove quarantine and COVID-19 testing requirements and declare masks non-mandatory for air travel. Read More » “International travel within this region, one of the biggest and most important international markets in the world, is at 6% of where it was in 2019,” Walsh told delegates at the Changi Aviation Summit in Singapore. “Things are improving, but they will not improve fast enough unless [more] nations follow the initiative of countries like Singapore and remove requirements for tests and quarantine for vaccinated travellers.”
