IATA appoints Xie Xingquan as regional vice president North Asia

The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) new regional vice president North Asia, Dr. Xie Xingquan, has held various senior appointments in China, Canada and Singapore in his 24-year career in aviation. Read More » He was Director of the Policy, Law and Regulation Division at the R&D Centre of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China from 1998 to 2008, Assistant Legal Officer at the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal for the following two years and Director General of the Policy, Law & Regulations Institute at the China Academy of Civil Aviation Science & Technology from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Xie joined IATA in its Montreal office in 2011 as the association’s Assistant Director Legal and has worked in this position of senior legal leadership until he began his new IATA role on June 15. He will be based in Beijing and report to IATA’s senior vice president and deputy director general, Conrad Clifford. Dr. Xie will lead the association’s activities across North Asia, a region that is home to 40 IATA member airlines.
Dr. Xie is a Doctor of Law from the Chinese Academy of Social Science and also holds a LLM in International Commercial Law from the Singapore Management University.
