Major China carriers confirm orders for 292 A320neo aircraft

Airbus has secured orders for almost 300 A320 family aircraft from Air China (64), China Eastern Airlines (100), China Southern Airlines (96 plus leased aircraft) and Shenzhen Airlines (32). Read More » “These new orders demonstrate the strong confidence in Airbus of our customers,” Airbus chief commercial officer and head of international, Christian Scherer, said. “It also is a solid endorsement from our airline customers in China of the performance, quality, fuel efficiency and sustainability of the world's leading family of single aisle aircraft.” Air China informed the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong last week it had committed to the A320neo family aircraft order and that its Shenzhen Airlines unit also has confirmed its order for the type. Deliveries of the ordered aircraft are scheduled from 2023 to 2027. Previously, Airbus has announced it intends to increase its narrow-body output to 65 aircraft a month by mid-2023. In May, China Southern Airlines deleted an order for 100 737MAXs from its fleet plan.
