Hong Kong Airport reports 295,000 passengers for June

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) reported 295,000 passengers passed through its terminals in June, up 73.5% month-on-month from 170,000 passengers in May. Read More » The June figure was more than three times higher than the 83,000 passengers processed through the airport in the same month in 2021. Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said the June passenger increase followed [some] relaxation of inbound travel and transfer/transit measures. “Passenger traffic to and from Southeast Asia saw the largest increase,” AAHK said. Despite the strong growth, the figures remained well below pre-COVID-19 levels. The June 2022 numbers represented 4.7% of the 6.3 million passengers HKIA handled in June 2019.
