Today's Farnborough Airshow briefs report news from AerCap, Air Lease Corporation, Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Embraer, Eve Holding, Feel Air and Pratt & Whitney. Read More »

AerCap has leased six 737-800 Converted Freighters to Brazil’s GOL; three to be delivered this year and three in 2023.

Air Lease Corporation has signed a long-term lease placement for six A200-300s with TAAG Angola Airlines. Deliveries are scheduled from 2023 to 2024.

ATR has agreed a Letter of Intent with new Japanese regional carrier, Feel Air Holdings, for up to 36 ATR 42-600s, 72-600s and the -42-600S short take-off and landing variant.

Boeing and Delta Air Lines confirmed the SkyTeam alliance member's order for 100 737 MAX 10s with options for 30 more in a signing ceremony at the UK airshow. Delta also awarded Boeing Global Services the contract to reconfigure the interiors of 29 737-900ERs with the work to be completed by 2025.

Separately, Boeing launched a data modelling tool, to be developed in collaboration with university partners, to determine the technology necessary to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

In a signing ceremony with Boeing, All Nippon Airways has confirmed its previously announced order for 20 737 MAX 8s plus options for 10 more of the type and the conversion of two 777-9X orders to the 777-8X freighter.

Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney will establish a hybrid-electric technology demonstrator program applicable to advanced air mobility vehicles. The two aerospace conglomerates also will deepen collaboration on full-flight data using Collins Aerospace GlobalConnect and Pratt & Whitney EngineWise.

Pratt & Whitney also announced it has commenced FAR33 certification testing on its GTF Advantage engine. It is expected to be available to customers in 2024.

Separately, the company confirmed its India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru will be open for business in January and will employ 500 engineers and technology professionals.

Embraer and Raizen have committed to the development of a sustainable aviation fuel production ecosystem.

Separately, LOT Polish Airlines has extended its contract with Embraer for the manufacturer’s pool program for parts and support.

In other Embraer news, subsidiary Eve Holding displayed a full-sized electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) cabin mock-up at the air show and Halo Aviation and the Brazilian aviation OEM will develop and launch an urban air traffic management software solution.

Rolls-Royce has started the final build phase of its aero-engine technology demonstrator, the UltraFan. The demonstrator engine, which has a diameter of 140 inches (3.56m), is scheduled for completion later this year.

Also, the Derby headquartered engine OEM will conduct two ground tests using hydrogen to power an AE 2100 engine and a Pearl 15 jet engine.
