United Airlines (UA) is to launch a second nonstop service from Melbourne Tullamarine to the U.S. Read More » The Star Alliance member will resume nonstop Melbourne-Los Angeles from October 28, initially with three flights a week before increasing to daily from December 1. UA’s three times weekly Melbourne-San Francisco service also will become daily from October 28. Melbourne Airport CEO, Lorie Argus, said the 14 flights a week were 40% more than UA’s pre-pandemic schedule out of Victoria’s capital city. “United’s extensive network and local partnership with Virgin Australia means millions of people have one-stop access to Melbourne. As Virgin Australia’s largest domestic hub, Melbourne has more connections to Perth, Adelaide, Canberra and Tasmania than any Australian city,” Argus said.
