India bourse asks Jet Airways for clarification of reports it has leased an A320

Jet Airways has told India's BSE Ltd stock exchange that “merely taking/giving one or two aircraft on lease by any airline (as per news reports) should not be considered as material”, and added there will not be any major impact on the business or the industry. Read More » The airline was replying to a BSE request for confirmation of news reports it had leased an A320 from Avolon. “Neither the company nor its authorised representatives have made any media or public statements in relation to a future fleet of aircraft or lease thereof as referred to in the articles,” Jet Airways said. “The company will duly inform the exchange after taking a final decision on re-commencement of commercial operations, a re-start of ticket bookings and registration of aircraft by aviation authorities.” After new investors acquired the airline, which had shut down in 2019, Jet received its Air Operator Certificate from India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in May.
