Air China reports 41% domestic passenger decline; impacted by Mainland lockdowns

The Star Alliance member's domestic passenger load factor for the 30 days was 65.6% compared with 67.4% and 66.4% in August this year and September 2021, respectively. In recent months, several major Mainland cities and provinces have experienced extended lockdowns as Beijing continued to enforce its zero-COVID strategy. In pre-COVID September three years ago, Air China flew 7.7 million domestic passengers and had a passenger load factor of 81.8%.
