AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AAAGL) has agreed to sell its remaining equity in AirAsia India to majority shareholder and Air India owner, Tata Sons. Read More » The Malaysia-headquartered LCC will focus on its operating airlines in Southeast Asia, it said. “COVID allowed us to re-examine our priorities. We felt it was best for AirAsia to develop an ASEAN-only business, where we have four great airlines – in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines – with a much loved brand and presence,” AAAGL group CEO, Bo Lingam, said. “India will remain an important market for AirAsia and continue to be served by our airlines. We will apply the experience and knowledge gained from operating in the Indian domestic market to grow our ASEAN-Indian logistics and passenger services to a far greater extent.”
