Cathay Pacific capacity not 100% restored to pre-COVID-19 levels until December 2024

Read More » The group’s airlines, Cathay Pacific and LCC HK Express, plan to be at 70% of pre-COVID-19 capacity by year-end 2023 and fully restored to pre-pandemic operations 12 months later. “The city’s borders were closed for much longer than other markets. Importantly, aircrew in Hong Kong were uniquely [working] under quarantine constraints not lifted until September,” Tang said. “Despite all of this, our recovery trajectory is in line with other carriers that do not benefit from a domestic market in time taken since borders began to open.” Cathay Pacific carriers are on track to achieve a third of pre-COVID-19 capacity by December, Tang said. “The company's recruitment plans will ensure it has sufficient pilots, cabin crew and operational employees to support its flight schedules.”
