Fiji Airways is introducing a network-wide passenger baggage allowance based on the per piece concept. Read More » Currently, Fiji Airways passengers travelling to Canada and the U.S. have a baggage allowance based on the number of pieces checked in, but passengers travelling on the airline to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the Pacific Islands must adhere to a check-in allowance calculated on weight. Under the new system, all routes will have the one piece concept. “Carrying multiple pieces of luggage can be quite strenuous, so we have come up with a policy that is less stressful for guests,” Fiji Airways CEO, Andre Viljoen, said. “It is convenient and avoids confusion between different baggage rules in different countries.” The per piece concept will apply for bookings made from December 15 for flights from February 1, 2023.
